Ideal for any kind of space and room, these stands are also perfect for supporting centre speakers or smaller satellite speakers for front or surround channels in a home-theatre setup.

Why Use Speaker Stands?

There are several reasons why you should mount your speakers on stands rather than an ordinary piece of furniture.

Firstly, stands allow you to position your speakers in the best spot for your listening environment.

The second main reason is isolation. If you ask any hi-fi or pro-audio professional, they will tell you that it is critical for loudspeakers to be decoupled from the surface they're resting on, especially if that surface has other audio equipment such as amplifiers or turntables on it.

Isolation Matters

Separating your speakers and your furniture combats energy being transferred from the speakers to the surface. This creates unwanted resonances, ultimately affecting the clarity and quality of your sound. If your speakers are placed on the same structure as your hi-fi equipment, this will also prevent vibration from your speakers affecting the performance of your equipment.

The support poles are typically the most resonant part of a stand. The decoupling floor spikes can be removed, allowing you to fill the frame with a damping material such as sand. This process is completely optional and gives you the ability to take this already solid stand to another level of acoustical isolation. Clear up the soundstage provided by your speakers and hear everything you want to hear.

Positioning your speakers at the correct height is key to creating an ideal stereo or surround sound listening environment. The NS-6 stands position your speakers at 625 mm from the floor. Ideal for most seated listening rooms.

The same floor spikes that contribute towards the stands isolation are also adjustable, to correct the level of the stand on uneven surfaces.

These heavy-duty stainless steel floor spikes are designed to stabilize the stands on carpeted floors. However, for hard surfaces or low-pile carpet, floor pads are included for protecting hard surfaces from becoming scratched by the spikes.
