Replacement Tubes (Valves)
There are three main categories of tubes. These being driver (preamp) tubes, power tubes and rectifier tubes.
Driver Tubes: A driver (preamp) tube will amplify the signal and prepare it for further amplification by the power tubes. There are several models that we offer. These include the 12AX7, 12AT7, 12AY7 and 12AU7. Besides tonal variations, one of the primary differences is the gain factor. This is as follows: 12AX7 = 100, 12AT7 = 60, 12AY7 = 45 and 12AU7 = 20.
Power Tubes: Power tubes further amplify and drive your signal to power larger speakers. Some common models include the EL34, KT88, KT120 and KT150. Different tubes will provide varying tonal qualities and output power.
Rectifier Tubes: Rectifier tubes convert AC into DC, which the amplifier requires as a power source. Please note that not all tube amplifiers require a rectifier tube. Some amplifiers will use a solid state rectifier or perform rectification within the transformer.

The TAD ECC81 / 12AT7-Cz is selected with regards to a tight balance of both triodes making it ideal for the use as balanced phase driver. In addition to the perfect symmetrical systems, the strong amplification characteristics support increased dynamics of the output stage.
The Original US-made mil. Grade JAN Version in TAD Premium NOS-Selection quality. This tube is used in old Fender amps or Hi-Fi applications and produces a smooth reverb. It replaces the 6201, E81CC and ECC801. upgrades ECC81 and 12AT7.
The new TAD ECC83-WB PREMIUM Selected is a low-noise and low microphonic version of the 12AX7 that even meets the specifications of a 7025. If the TAD ECC83-WB is used in hi-fi audio amplifiers, the tube adds a bit of freshness and presence to the signal.
The TAD EL34-STR REDBASE provides a gorgeous, dynamic and amazingly open in-yer-face tone with just the right amount of angriness. Expect a clear, harmonic and open top end, a lovely spot-on midrange, with vocal low-mids and a great bass response.
The E34L is a long-life EL34 type tube with thick and especially solid glass. It delivers lots of bite in the top end, punchy mids and well-focussed bass power. A wonderful EL34, with great tone for Hi-Fi as well as for musical instrument amplifications.
The TAD KT66 is our remake of the great British KT66 by MOV (MO Valve), GEC, Genalex and Gold Lion. It has a large curved glass envelope and a rounded brown base. It made the Marshall JTM45 Plexi amps famous in the 60's and the Quad Hi-Fi amps a legend.
The TAD KT88-STR is built in the style of the early British MOV KT88. It has the same big and heavy glass envelope and beautifully polished metal base. Its wonderful tone and great appearance make this tube the most attractive choice for high-end audio applications.
The TAD 6L6GCM-STR REDBASE is our latest 6L6GC designed and built to claim to be the best 6L6 type tube ever manufactured. A damn high claim, but we are sure that we have achieved exactly that. Silky highs, defined, deep bass and lots of headroom.
Juicy mids, tight bass and airy - easy to listen top end. The TAD 6L6WGC-STR REDBASE is our recommendation for a classic tone with warm cleans and rich, sweet mids when pushed. Great for fat jazz or blues tones and our favorite option for all open back combos.
A faithful reproduction of the Mullard/VALVO GZ34 with the perfection of our REDBASE series. Pure power and the typical sag have been the distinguishing characteristics of the most popular guitar amps of guitar heroes since the 1960s. Equivalent to 5AR4.
The Electro-Harmonix 12AU7 driver tube features low microphonics and excellent linearity offer a musical and harmonic soundstage. Copy of GE 6189, equivalent to the European ECC82 tube and can be used in any 12AU7 or ECC82 circuit.
The very dynamic and deep low end response of the long plate 12AT7 EH tube makes it an excellent choice in reverb driver and phase inverter stages. However, use in high gain preamp stages is not recommended due to potential microphonics.
High gain, ultra low noise. Spiral filament for no hum. The Electro-Harmonix 12AX7 features short plate structure with improved materials result in no microphonics make them ideal for guitar amps, etc. Excellent replacement, nice balanced sounding tube.
