Projector Compatibility and Viewing Modes
Sony VPL-XW5000ES
Lens Model: DCR-S3 (+ST/SST) or DCR+XM2
For multimedia projection on a 2.25:1 screen (no zooming is required for any mode and screen is always filled): Use 1.32x and V-Stretch for 2.4:1 content (this will show a 6.7% vertical stretch). Use 1.24x and V-Stretch for 2.0:1 content (no stretch but 5% top/bottom crop). Use Normal for 16:9 content to fill the screen with a 25% horizontal stretch or Squeeze without stretch but with black side bars in this case.
Sony VPL-XW6000ES, VPL-XW7000ES
Lens Model: DCR-S4 (+ST/SST) or DCR+XM2
For a 2.4:1 screen when movies are the primary content: Set Sony anamorphic lens setting to 1.24x. Set Aspect to V-Stretch for content greater than 2.0:1 (8% top/bottom crop of 2.0:1 streaming) or Squeeze (with black bars) or Normal for content at 2.0:1 or less. In Squeeze or Normal mode content must be zoomed down to avoid cropping top and bottom 3.3% of the image which will increase black side bars.
Sony VPL-VW5000ES, VPL-GTZ380
Lens Model: DCR+XM2
For a 2.4:1 screen, set Anamorphic Lens to 1.24x. Use V-Stretch for content 2.0:1 or greater or Squeeze or Normal for 2.0:1 or less. Also try Normal + 2.35:1 Zoom for filling a 2.4:1 screen with smaller content (this will crop 3% from top/bottom).
JVC DLA-RS1000, DLA-RS1100, DLA-RS2100, DLA-RS3100, DLA-NP5, DLA-NZ7, DLA-NZ8 (and Respective Older Models)
Lens Model: DCR-J1 (+ST/SST) or DCR+XM2
For a 2.4:1 screen, use Anamorphic C for content greater than 2.0:1 or Anamorphic D for content less than 2.0:1. Also try Anamorphic Off and Anamorphic Off + Zoom for filling a 2.4:1 screen with smaller content.
JVC DLA-RS4100, DLA-NZ9 (and Respective Older Models)
Lens Model: DCR+XM2
For a 2.4:1 screen, use Anamorphic C for content greater than 2.0:1 or Anamorphic D for content less than 2.0:1. Also try Anamorphic Off and Anamorphic Off + Zoom for filling a 2.4:1 screen with smaller content.
Epson LS12000
Lens Model: CDR-E1 or CDR+XM2
Set Aspect mode to Anamorphic Wide for content greater than 2.0:1 or Horizontal Squeeze for content less than 2.0:1. Set Aspect mode to Auto to stretch 16:9 content to fill a 2.4:1 screen.
